La Petxina, Valencia: what to explore and the best barbershop in the neighborhood

La Petxina is a neighborhood in Extramurs, between the old city and the former Turia riverbed. The name comes from petxina, the scallop shell in Valencian. It is a place to live: local streets, the river gardens next door and the historic center a walk away. Our barbershop is right there, at C/ Juan Llorens 18.

What to explore in and around La Petxina

The neighborhood makes more sense on foot. These stops fit easily around a chair time:

• Jardí del Túria. The park in the old riverbed sits beside the barrio. Walk, cycle or sit for a while before or after your cut.
• Jardins del Real (Viveros) and the Museu de Belles Arts. Cross the river for gardens, shade and one of the city’s main art museums.
• Torres de Quart. The western gate of the old wall, on the way into Ciutat Vella. A natural stop if you continue toward El Carmen.
• Jardí Botànic. In the next neighborhood, El Botànic. A short walk among plants if you want to stretch the morning.
• The streets of the barrio itself. Juan Llorens, everyday Extramurs and Gran Vía: coffee, errands and neighborhood life without heading into the center.

Why we are the best barbershop in the neighborhood

You do not need to cross Valencia for a good cut. In La Petxina the chair is in the barrio, with Agustín and Diniz, and with an appointment so you are not left standing.

• We are here. C/ Juan Llorens 18, in La Petxina. Come from the river, from home or from work and leave with the haircut done.
• They cut it. Agustín and Diniz work fades, scissors, beard and skin. The same standard every visit.
• You book. Booksy or WhatsApp. You arrive at your time, sit down and go.
• Hours. Monday to Friday 10:00–20:00 and Saturday 10:00–18:00.
• The detail matters. Beard line, a clean fade and a wash if you want it. The cut is planned for your face, not a generic number.

Book before you drop into the Jardí del Túria or on the way back from Viveros. You leave the shop and the neighborhood is still there: the river, the towers and the same streets.
